The STM slipper clutches are a technology studied and implemented on motorcycles to avoid the dangerous hopping effect of the tire, hopping due to the intervention of the engine brake during the deceleration phase. The anti-hopping function starts only and exclusively during the braking phase, when the engine generates negative torque.
The intervention of the engine brake on the rear wheel of a motorcycle is invasive to the point of causing the wheel to skip, with consequent loss of traction of the tire.
The STM slipper clutch keeps the bike composed during deceleration or detached.
The STM clutch is a very high quality component built with precious materials such as ergal that make it much lighter than an original (OEM) clutch with top-level finishes and craftsmanship.
Equipping the motorcycle with any of the STM clutches allows an overall improvement in vehicle performance, also extending the life of the engine.
